Student Produced Podcasts

English Podcast

Posted with permission from V. Macaluso, 2012

The students were instructed to select one image for every two chapters of The Things They Carried by Tim O'Brien.  After uploading the pictures to the VoiceThread website, the  students then recorded a voiceover to explain an item or emotion that was "carried" by the soldiers in this book.  They further augmented their comments by using the virtual whiteboard feature. My role in this project was to collaborate with English faculty to integrate technology into the curriculum.

The students were given an assignment to produce a podcast that explains the inner workings of a program loop. The students uploaded images of their output and documentation of the program that produced the output.  The student then recorded a voiceover and utilized the virtual white board to illustrate their comments.  My role in this project was as technology faculty in my Introduction to Programming and iOS App Writing course. Theology Podcast

This theology project gave the students the opportunity to produce a podcast that exhibits their knowledge of the Beatitudes. Constructivist learning is evident when this student, who is a talented young actor, drew upon his interest in theater by choosing movie posters to illustrate each Beatitude. My role in this project was to collaborate with theology faculty to integrate technology into the curriculum. Click on the "View Podcast" button below to see Nick's work.
